Maria Parmenter makes predominantly hand built ceramics, creating domestic scale sculptural forms and a select range of functional ware. Focusing on the strange beauty in the ordinary and the simple poetry that is everyday life, her recent work highlights this beauty through notions of memory and personal experience. Exploring the space between, the sense or feeling that exists between ones reality and the unknown, these hybrid but evocative forms are reminiscent of a previous time or experience.
